Project Description
Local Policing Fora (or Community Safety Fora/Partnerships) are established at neighbourhood level in local authority areas. The Fora are composed of representatives from the community, Gardaí and local authorities, and Public representatives, other relevant statutory agencies and stakeholders can also be represented. Local Policing Fora address the problems associated with drug misuse in their area by facilitating the sharing of information, improving communication between agencies and stakeholders, and helping them to work together with the community. Local Policing Fora can make recommendations to Joint Policing Committees on issues relating to patterns and levels of drug misuse in the local area. In Dun Laoghaire Rathdown currently we have one JPC called the Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Joint Policing Committee, We have establised two Local Policing Forums in Dún Laoghaire, A) Loughlinstown, Shankhill & Ballybrack Local Policing Forum B) Sandyford/Stepaside Local Policing Forum
