Project Description
''Ensure all schools and other educational/training establishments within the region implement a comprehensive substance misuse prevention programme in the context of health education'' In the pursuit of this aim the initiative will strive to increase the effectiveness of the sector by ensuring non duplication of services, programmes are integrated, interlinked and are accordance with best practice. That strategies are devised to address identified gaps, supports are available to those working in the sector and that the actions provide added value and complement existing provision. Specifically, the Co-ordinator will support the implementation of Substance Use Education Programme in the formal and non-formal education settings. The project is underpinned by key actions under the prevention pillar of the National Drugs Strategy 2009-2016 namely Actions 21,22,26, 28 & 29.

Family / Parental Support Health and Fitness
Information, Support and Advice One to One Support
Personal Development Referrals to appropriate Support Services
